Shipping And Returns

Shortly after you place an order, you will receive an email confirming that we have received your order. Although we process orders as quickly as possible, please note your customized Cake Jewelry order is an original work of art and we require 3 WEEKS to design, build and ship it. We cannot accept orders with less than 3 weeks lead time. You will receive a second email when your order has shipped. You may also use our site's order status feature located in your account options after logging in.
Shipping costs are based on item size and weight. International rates vary by location. There may also be an additional charge if your event date is less than our standard lead time of 3 weeks and the shipping destination is far from our studio.
We ship all orders with the United States Postal Service (USPS), which normally takes 3-14 days after leaving our studio depending on the shipping destination. Standard shipping rates apply to shipments to the 48 Continental United States, extra shipping charges may apply to Alaska, Hawaii, and internationally. Please allow additional time for orders placed during busy times such as holidays.
International Shipping Restrictions
Items from the Very Different Cakes Marketplace can be shipped to most international regions, but cannot be shipped to Ascension, Cuba, Falkland Islands, and North Korea. Your packages may be subject to the customs fees and import duties of the country to which you have your order shipped. See Customs Information for more details.
You may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country. Additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by you; we have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. Customs policies vary widely from country to country; you should contact your local customs office for further information. Additionally, when ordering from VeryDifferentCakes.com, you are considered the importer of record and must comply with all laws and regulations of the country in which you are receiving the goods.
Generally, customs forms for international packages will list the value of your order's contents by product type. For instance, orders containing Monograms, Hearts, Flowers and Pedestals will generally be listed in a way similar to the following example:

We would like our international customers and customers shipping products internationally to be aware that cross-border shipments are subject to opening and inspection by customs authorities.
Also, we may provide certain order, shipment and product information, to our international carriers, and such information may be communicated by the carriers to customs authorities in order to facilitate customs clearance and comply with local laws.
If the order is a gift, the package is marked "Gift," but the cost of the item is still stated on the customs form. Customs authorities require us to state the value of the gift item directly on the package.

All Cake Jewelry is unique. If you decide to cancel an order before it's shipped out, there may be a small fee depending on how far along we are with your order. Please understand this is only to cover the cost of materials used in our Cake Jewelry creation process.
Due to the highly customized nature of our Cake Jewelry, all sales are considered final when shipped. However, we are committed to providing complete bliss and total satisfaction! If an item arrives damaged or incomplete, please email us at Returns@VeryDifferentCakes.com or call us at (323) 466-1480 within 3 business days after you receive the order. Please include your order, name, and shipping address. We will try to make it right! Refunds/exchanges are given for items only, shipping charges are not refunded.
